You meet eight people at a meetup, mean to follow up with all of them, and message none of them. SmartMoves fixes the part that actually breaks — not the intention, the record.
The whole point is that you should not have to type where you were. So SmartMoves asks for permission to your Google Calendar, and uses it for exactly two things:
Reading your events — to find the one happening at the moment you scanned someone, and to show your upcoming events in the app.
Creating events — only when you add one yourself inside the app, so it appears on your real calendar rather than being stranded here.
It is optional. You can skip it at sign-up, use the app without it, and revoke it at any time from your Google account permissions. We never ask for Gmail, Drive or Contacts.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not use it to train AI models. Your Google refresh token is held server-side where the app itself cannot read it, and every database query is locked to your own account. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
